National Services Park Launch EventLocal representatives of National Service Organizations and the City of Plainview, Minnesota are partnering to develop a first-of-its-kind national service park to educate, inspire and create awareness of all forms of national service. A launch event occurred on November 4, 2023 in Plainview, Minnesota. The launch event featured keynote speakers Carol Spahn, Peace Corps Director; Retired U.S. Army Four-Star General Joseph Votel, Commander of the U.S. Central Command; Ken Goodson, Director of AmeriCorps NCCC; and, Colonel Eduardo Suarez, Director of Communications Minnesota National Guard. The event was made possible by funding from the Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation in cooperation with the Peace Corps Legacy Association and the City of Plainview.
